Shipping Method to factory?

I am going to be sending my receiver back less barrel to have a shotgun barrel fitted.
Will the factory still work on trigger pull?
As I see it I need to send $25 plus the cost of the barrel to have another added

How are you guys shipping? USPS -UPS -Fed-Ex?

Any info would be appreciated.

if I send in just the receiver, i put it in a small box and send it thru the mail. sending the whole gun is legal thru the mail, but our post office wont unless you get one of them who knows what their doing, otherwise i take it to my local gun shop.

USPS, but sometimes you have to convince them to check the rules and see that it is legal.  It seems some postal employees don't know their own rules and think shipping all guns is against the law.  Don't know your location, but here in Alaska it is not a problem.  It's just I had a heck of a time shipping one in Texas last fall.

Since I like complete Handis, I almost always order a stock set and just send the frame in a free USPS priority video box, insured and free delivery confirmation using Click-n-Ship, the cost is less than $10 and they'll have it in 2-3 days. If you have a scale, printer, and a credit card, that's the easiest way to ship something, no waiting in line either, just hand it to a clerk all prepaid and ready to go. You can also schedule a pick up for freee.

Ignorance can be found on either side of the counter, it's real frustrating when the clerk on the other side of the counter doesn't know their own rules, I've experienced that at UPS first hand. If you go to either armed with their rules, it helps.

I will probably go to our local rural post office.  "Sam Drucker" retired last year and now we have a post mistress who seems to be as laid back as Sam was. Our rural carrier while being a nice guy doesn't seem to know much about shipping a firearm.

Tim, I looked at the links and I think it will work out.

As for getting a new stock set with the barrel it would be nice but in our neighborhood we are so poor that even our rainbows are still in black and white.

Will they still tend to the trigger? Thanks, carbineman

They still do it so far as I know, they also might charge for it, I'm not positive, but near as we've figured out, if it's over 5lbs to begin with, they do it free, but they've charged a couple members $15 for what is suspected that the trigger was already under 5lbs, they'll reduce it to 3-3½lbs, at least all of those I've had done were, but they were 6-7lbs from the get go. Even if they charge $15, that's a heck of a buy, most smiths charge $25-$50.
