Just got back from shooting my Encore with my new 22" &m-08 barrel. I had 140gn factory loads and my own loads with 140 gn. Nosler Bal.tips and 46gn of IMR 4350. I have to say I was quite surprized. I figured it would be like a pop gun recoil wise :gun4: . . . but it felt right up there with my Sako 7mm . :biggun: As I thought about it, I imagine with the shorter length and light front end Encores would have pretty significant recoil. Accuracy was ok for a 1st outing. No washers, hanger bars etc... and it shot 1.5" with some of the bullet holes almost touching. I will load up some lighter loads tomorrow afternoon and see what happens.
