I had one in -06 and it was great.  My son-in-law has it now.

My brother has two custom rifles on husky actions and is a believer.

I have never seen a bad product come from Sweden.
The 6.5x55 is one of the finer cartridges for shooting--Extremely accurate, plenty powerful, yet easy on the shoulder.

It's my favorite caliber. I don't have a Husky but I have a couple of matching  CG Swedes  and one  sportered by Kimber.  I have heard the Husky is stronger than the CG. My daughter and I have taken taken three antelope and 3 whitetails in the last year with an Encore in 6,5 x 55.    The Husky, you mention, is a later model, made in the early forties, and some have the turned down bolt which I like.  My elm stocked 38 and kimber have turned down bolts but they were done after they left the factory. My swedes have good bores and are accurate.   I am more of a hunter and shooter than collector so I am thinking of trading my original Swedes for a modern CZ or Tikka in 6.5 x 55.  I reload some of my hunting ammo a little warm so I have to be careful to not use it in the century old Swedes.

I second each response.  I have a M38 that I have sporterized and it is a most incredible rifle and caliber and I have one of the Husquarvarna 98 sporters in 8mm that is the next most incredible rifle I have.  Mikey.

Lets put it this way i believe the swede's were the first ones to manufacture chrome moly steels.  For eons there steel has been way above the rest in quality.  When the swede's sent there rifles out to be manufactured in Germany(oberndorf) they also sent the steel with them.  Either way all three of the swedish mausers are top shelf in quality and there accuracy proves that.

Husqvarna also used there chrome moly steels in there dirtbike frames too.  I never welded or repaired a husqvarna dirtbike frame, they never cracked or broke.  There quality and speed of there engines/bikes is unmatched even to today.

Hmmm your question needs a little clarification! as Husqvarna made many rifles both military and civilian. The only Husqvarna I have is a commercial model 46 in 9.3x57 and is built on the 96 action, it's a fine rifle that I very much enjoy shooting, now the firm Husqvarna is much like our old BSA firm was they made a whole range of stuff. The motor cycles have been mentioned but Husqvarna also made forresty equipment and sew machines to mention just two more products. Unlike our BSA company which through shabby treatment by sucessive governments was forced to close, Husqvarna is still going.

Yup i used there chainsaws for logging too and got the misses one of there sewing machines too.  All the husqvarna(means made for the house) are top shelf quality products. I still have there chainsaws.

The Swedes like the Swiss took great pride in craftsmanship and maintaining their equipment.  I have several Swedes and they all shoot as well if not better then many new rifles.  If you want to go for a brand new one look at Tikka.  I have three in different calibers (.300 win. mag, .308, and 22-250) all shoot very well and are moderately priced compared to other rifles of lesser quality.   The 6,5x55 is a great cartrige.  Creedmor came out with a round for NRA High Power competition that is basically a 6.5x55 made to get a little additional velocity.  That says much about this cartridge design.
