Is ther much demand for custom grips??
« on: July 07, 2003, 05:04:13 AM »
I have a high grade double gun business and do a lot of stock work. I was debating on adding contender grips to the list of items. Would ya'll(yeh I'm from the south) be interested in exotic grips, or specialty grips? It can be anything from run of the  mill replacements to customer spec'd grips. I made up a couple sets this holiday weekend out of Bocote with Wenge forend and grip cap, all pillar bedded of course. It really improved the feel of the gun in my hand. Just wondering if anyone was interested. If this is an inappropriate topic to post here, please feel free to remove it.

thanks
Doc

being old and retired MY interest has come down to cost's unfortunately.
I like to look at custom stuff for all guns.I have a couple custom T/C forearms and would buy more IF they are affordable. I do not baby my hunting guns and have bees seen using a wire fence as a support in the past.So I like my forearms easily repaired   jh

To make the initial inquiry is OK. To solicit business beyond this would constitute advertising and advertising isn't free. If you wish to discuss advertising rates I'll be happy to quote them to you based on what you might be interested in.

Dr. M,
In the IHMSA world of shooting, all production equipment (including grips) must be commercially available in quantity to be considered production. I believe that they need to be made from a pattern and must be approved by the appropriate IHMSA committee. There are some rules about having a catalog, etc. to be 'approved' for production As for unlimited, that's another story, but basically anything goes.
There is already one person in Texas (IshmaelCustom) that had his grips approved for production and they are quite popular.

As for demand, I personally have all I need, and about 6 extra sets that may soon hit the classified board.
