36 grain .223 Varmint Grenade

36 grain .223 Varmint Grenade.... I picked up a box to play with and reload for my H & R or maybe my AR (fast twist 1/7)....

I have some Varget and some Win 748 but I can not seem to find any data......

Suggestions for loads?

There's loads all over for 40gr bullets, use that, or call or email Barnes, usually they will email you load data for their bullets.

You might also check over at predatormasters.com, I've seen some over there talk about using them.

I called barnes about these bullets last yr and they would not give any load data out for them they said just use 40gr data. have not bought a barnes bullet since. Most of my test loads in a 1-9 twist 223 vaporized before they got to the target. Kurt

i think 1/7 would be a little too fast for 36's . my 1/9 does shoot 40's pretty well

Don't know who you talked to but I get their load data sent to me all the time.

Barnes has some load data for the 36 gr. Varmint Grenade on their website, showing only two powders- Benchmark and TAC

They do recommend a 1:12" twist rate so you might not be happy using them in the 1:7"

I talked with them last yr about april and I now see they finally published some data in december. Maybe others complained as I did. Kurt
