Well???
« on: November 30, 2008, 10:27:19 AM »
How did everybody do?  Any nice bucks?  Anyone got any pictures?  I saw a couple does and missed a chance at an average eight pointer but it was a pretty slow year.

I hunted all 9 days in unit 57A near Mosinee on 100 acres of private land.  Didn't see anything.

In fact, I didn't hear a gunshot within about a half mile of me.

My neighbors have a 80 acre swamp which they did drives in 3 times without one deer.  They usually take 15 to 20 with their 20man drive party.

I did however shoot 2 coyotes, so hopefully the fawn survival rate goes up next year.

Here is the county by county spreadsheet with this years harvest numbers vs last years.
Seeing some of the numbers up north over 50% lower than last year is unbelievable.

Wow that is just unreal. It's like the deer packed up and moved away from the the Northern Counties.

No deer for me yet!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( :'(

But I am still hunting, every day.

And will continue to do so.

Until I get a deer or run out of gun season.

Same story every where up north, deer numbers are low.

Nada, zip.  Numbers seem to be down all over. Green Lake County, Barron, Brown Outagamie and Marinette.  These are hard hunters I have heard from....

I took 5 shots with my Knight M-L & got 5 deer. The hunt was on a buddy's lease in IL. I shot the smallest of the 4 bucks harvested, a 9ptr. The farmer wanted at least 20 deer taken. I only did a little light hunting with my son in WI & the U.P. this year.

Our group of 5 had 6 deer. One 9 pt , 2 8pts, one spike, and 2 does. We hunt in Taylor cty. The majority of the hunters I talked to didn't do well at all
