new reloaders

got 2 used reloaders for free today now I need to figure out how to use them and get some info about them . One is a lyman easy loader the other is a bair company loader i need to get some help and find some manuals i guess i am also thinking that i can change this over between 12 and 20. Has some extra parts.

Sorry but no help from me on those. Never used either and never even seen the Bair in fact I'm not sure I've even heard of that one.

Somehow I associate Bair with Pacific which became Hornady. The Reloader is a totally different animal than what Hornady offers.

They are not that complicated. Start at one station and deprime and size.  Move to next and prime. Move to next and load powder then wad then shot. Move to next and start the star crimp. Move to next and crimp. Finished. Check to see if you have the correct star crimp. They make 6 point and 8 point.

I will have to check it came with some extra parts but since i know nothing about reloading i wll need a manual or two and some practice thanks.

A good shotgun reloading manual is a great place to start. Not only will it show you how but it will also provide load recepies

Bair was bought by Pacific. Depending on what model Bair you have, it might be identical to a Pacific model. The "Honey Bair" (Bair 405) was the Pacific DL-155. Hornady might be able to help with a manual.

The Bair 405 ("Honey Bair") was a single-stage press, the 600 ("Polar Bair") was a progressive (I think. Memory fades a bit. I'm sure of the 405). Those are the only two Bairs I can remember.

I will see if i can get a pic and post it tonite never tried but sure i can figure it out i think with my very limited knowledge it is a single stage press so probably the 405 but will get pics and see if you all can help me with them. thanks

That's a Pacific DL-155, or so close I can't tell the difference. A couple of things I can't tell from the picture - it looks like the wad guide is in place but I can't be sure. If not, I don't know if you can get another one. The other thing is, I can't tell if you have a charge bar. Hope so.

Contact Hornady - they should have the documentation filed away somewhere. Their 366 press is the old Pacific DL-366 from around 1967 0r '68, just a few updates over the years.

If Hornady can't help, another thought. The basics of shotshell loading are pretty much the same whatever press you use. You might get some insight by going to the MEC Manuals page and downloading the manual for the discontinued version of the MEC 600jr. Won't give you set-up for your press, but as a general guide it might help some.
