After hunting in S Texas, I was cleaning mine and my sons 527 varmints....same deal , I took mine out...and after unscrewing it , cleaning firing pin , et al...I could not get it to re enter the bolt chamber.....lucky for me , I had my sons sitting right there, and removed his bolt, and compared the two , and yes, had to be re-cocked....now it seems easy , but I was wrinkle brow ed for a little bit.....I would not trade that 527 for any reason.....very accurate, and made very well....
