Boss

Can the boss system on the end of a barrel be removed and the rifle be ok to shoot?  Will it hurt the rifle in any way?
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

On the ones I've examined the BOSS just screws on. So yes, you could remove it and be just fine. Just be careful not to ding up the threads when it's off.

You don't want exposed threads so either buy the blank boss which you can still adjust for accuracy but doesn't have the holes of the muzzle break or have a machinist make you a thread protector for the barrel.
