light loads in slug gun
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:00:05 PM »
i posted above in handi rifle forum about looking for some light 12 ga. slug loading data. i recently recieved my slug blr. for the handi rifle and would like to load some low recoil ammo. i have a lee and lyman forster mould and dont think i need max recoil to poke holes in paper targets. anyone have some low power data?? thanks in advance joe gifford aka argie1891

OK i am posting this again. i shot my handi rifle with a 12 ga slug blr. today. there has to be some data for some lighter loads. i don't need max loads to practice with. someone must have some data for some light loads somewhere. i have played with developing loads for rifle and pistol but know nothing about shotgun loading. SOMEONE PLEASE step up and help with some data for some lighter loads. a paper target just doesn't need the shooter to experience the recoil level of max loads. thanks in advance Joe Gifford selah, WA.

Joe Gifford
I have two Lee molds both of which came with receipies for loading slugs.  What few I have loaded were very low recoil 7/8 oz.
Ballistic Products probably has info on slug reloading.
Good luck
