pistol target stand

Does anyone have plans to build a stand for pistol target shooting?

You beat me to it Brian! :)  I was going to post the exact same link.

Bill, I built three of these and use them every time I go to the range.  They're great.  I put cardboard across them and then staple my targets to the cardboard.  Have fun with them!

Those push in the ground real estate signs are pretty cheap especially if you can get the real estate person to talking to someone else in the backyard.   JIM  But seriously I have a friend who WAS in the real estate business and I got a couple off of him.

I've got one I bought from Midway for something around $25-$30 that you push into the ground with a foot.  The only time I have shot the plastic frame was right after I bought my 45ACP,  the first shooting session with it was a little wild. I was shooting Hornady XTP hollow points and it sure made a perfect circle hole through it. Hee Hee   My first semi-auto pistol and it was different than shooting revolver, took some serious getting used to,  I really don't know why because I didn't think shooting a revolver was much different than shooting a rifle with iron sights.

;D HERE IS ANOTHER IDEA . HELP DE-LITER THE HIGHWAYS AND BY-WAYS BY REMOVING ( AFTER THE ELECTION) THE POLITICAL SIGNS . MOST ARE PLASTIC 'CARDBOARD' WITH A WIRE FRAME . WOULD SURE BE HARD TO GET A RICOCHET  . COSTS ARE NIL . IMPROVEMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT PRICELESS .

Here's what i do. Get 2 pieces of rebar, some zip straps, and cardboard or whatever for tgts. Attach the cardboard to the rebar "spikes" with the zips, pound into the ground, and u're covered. Want a bigger tgt.? Use electrical conduit for attaching the tgts. to, and use the rebar to slide the conduit onto, once theyr'e pounded into the ground.

Lots of GOOD ideas here.
Just goes too prove that if you think outside the box some of those screwy ideas work wonderfully well.

I'm a little lazier than most of you guys.  I gave up on building stands.   I procured (Begged) a 3/8" thick, metal real estate sign and use two cheap clamps from wal-mart to hold my targets.  Most of my targets are bottoms of cardboard boxes. (Thrifty) 
For an aiming point I press a round shoe dye bottle applicator in the middle of the cardboard..., just one dab in the middle gives me about a 1" target.  Every trip to 'Sams' yeilds new targets.
I've used the same frame now for about 5 yrs.  The frames heavy enough that I step on it to drive it into the ground. (If it gets hit, I hammer it back straight)     Less time building & more time shooting...

I use the cheap real estate/political signs, the kind that have a wire frame. In my county these signs have to be removed with in 5 days. I just pick a letter to use as a target.

I use it for my 22 lr rifles also . B's give you two places to shoot etc.
