38-55 Favorite loads

I just bought an H&R Target in 38-55.  It is going to be used in Cowboy Action Shooting in long range shoots. i am looking for accurate loads.  Somewhere for me to start.  Any info would be great.

diego2fly   You need to slug your bore. My H&R Target slugs at .381 The only factory molds you can buy are .379 diameter. I bought the lee 250 grain and have lapped it to throw .381 bullets. I am going to check them for accuracy and if I need to I will take it to .382 factory jacketed loads would not shoot at all in mine. They hit all over the place with some keyholing.
