38/55 Target

Helllo Felllas..  Picking up my 38/55 Target tomorrow.. Looking for a starting load..  Black or smokeless... Also has anyone used the Smith ladder sight from Buffalo Arms?  I have the Williams target peep from H&R on my Buffalo Classic but looking for something a little more classic for the 38/55... Thanks. I shoot .379 lead plain base 265 grain bullets over 9 grains of Trailboss(worked up from 6) .  After much fiddling around, it is the only load I shoot
