Any info on this stock set??
« on: January 27, 2008, 04:17:14 PM »
I ran across this Handi this weekend, and couldn't pass it up.  I've never seen this style of stock, and was curious as to how common they are.  I thought I'd owned just about all the different variations of laminated stocks, but this is one even I haven't seen.  Any ideas?

Yes, there have been several of them posted in the last few years, there's at least one in the FAQs thread "let's See Some Handis", I think Just Bill has one, one was just sold in the NEF Classifieds recently.

Oh by the way i do have info on these . You need to step away be very careful. What you need to do is get a pair of soft gloves a philips screw driver your 9/16 socket and wrench bubble wrap and a box. you need to very carefully take the wood off the steel wrap it in bubble wrap put it in the box and ship it to PHATINJUN don't fear for me as I am well trained in this procedure and can help you out .If you have not handled it to much you may be able to be saved from Handihalicism but to be sure maybe you should just box up the rest and send it along to be on the safe side. I'm sure they were sold on Hornet rifles, but H&R has sold them and other batches of special stocks many times over the years, those were called Bumble Bee,  that's how I got one of my gray lam sets  and red lams on my 270 UC. A year or two ago someone on here posted about someone having about 20 sets of them to sell which they no doubt got from H&R the same way.  ;) Bigjeepman bought a 223 with the Bumble Bee stock on it.

That is a nice looking piece of lam wood. A good one to recarve. the light
wood is stained with potassium bychromate very pretty color for birch or
maple.

I have the one that sold on GB recently.   I put it on a 357 and I think it is a great looking stock.

Its not a .22 Hornet, but is a .223 in the 330*** range.  I've all ready picked up a set of split Warne style rings for it, now all I need is a scope.
