The nose cap on my Ishapore 2A (same as Number 1 Mk 3) contacts the top of the barrel. I know that the fore end stud and spring is supposed to provide upward pressure on the barrel. Should the nose cap touch the barrel for max accuracy?
I know that they are "just military rifles" but I want max accuracy. I don't want to sporterize the rifle, but I am not against just a stone to make the hole larger in the nose cap.
I appears that even if I make the hole in the nose cap larger that it will still contact the barrel due to the design.
The fore end angles down away from the muzzle so it is torqueing the nose cap up at the front.
