Tamer 20ga in MOD Choke???
« on: January 27, 2008, 07:53:07 AM »
Just got home from "cruisin" Gander Mtn.  They finally had a Tamer 20ga on the rack.  NO!!  Not in the budget this week...yet ;D  Much to my surprise, it was marked Mod. choke on the barrel  :o  ??? I thought those were supposed to be Full choke.  Is the one I saw, the exception or the rule??
I would actually prefer the Mod. choke, but don't let H&R know that or they will change what they're doin'.
HAS ANYONE ELSE SEEN A TAMER 20ga in MOD CHOKE

Hey Cookiemann, I think the 2008 catalog has the 20 GA. Tamer listed as having a Modified barrel. I am like you and think this is a much better option than the full choke barrel. I may get to a "Sportsmans Warehouse" tonight after some meetings to check their inventory. If they have one it might just follow me home. JamesIII

The website says full but the catalog says modified ? I think for that type of gun and most hunting applications mod is a better choice.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

That is interesting indeed....??? Still, I hope we see more of those Tamers choked for Mod. Like the other guys said, I think its a better all-around choke; honestly, I think it's the finest 'one choke' a person can have for a shotgun, but that's just me ;D Thanks for sharing this.

Kind Regards,
