.204 bullets at Midsouth
« on: February 02, 2008, 04:41:33 AM »
Since this site is the one that MADE me get a NEF in .204  ;D, I just wanted to post here in case anyone is looking for some .204 bullets at a good price ($34.14 per 500).

MIDSOUTH BARGAINS VARMINT NIGHTMARE EXTREME 20CAL .204DIA 34GR PREMIUM FLAT BASE HOLLOW POINT 500 PK:

http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=000042034

I have not seen them yet (first order of 1K delivers Monday) but I suspect they are very similar (if not the same) as the Midway Dog Town bullets.  Reports indicate they are good out to about 200 yards, if the velocity is kept around the 3800fps mark.  I have not shot any of them yet but at that price, I figured "what the heck".  ;)

They also have the 50gr and 55gr non-cannelure .224 bullets in stock at ~$39 per 500.

That works out to about 6.8 cents per bullet almost 4cents cheaper than the Dog Town's not including shipping costs. Let us know how they work. Thanks. Dave

I did get my order today and these bullets look EXACTLY like the Midway Dog Towns - flat base, little HP, same shape, nice, shiny and TINY.  Instead of a nice box, they are in a thick plastic bag - but for a $16 per 500 savings, I'm cool with that.  I didn't pull out the scale but I would be willing to bet these are also Nosler SHOTS.  Now to get off my rear end and load some up...

PS:  And the 50gr .224s look nice too.  I can't wait for the other order to get here.  How long do you think it will take to shoot 2000 .204s through an NEF - especially since I haven't started reloading them yet and we don't even have prairie dogs around here?  :-[   :D

That is a very good deal and I was gonna say they sound like the MW DT bullets I got a few hundred DT left and they shoot very well in my 204 and had many shots to 300+ yards mine are loaded just shy of 3800fps. I may have to give midsouth a call. Thanks for the heads up. Kurt
