Sierra Pro Hunter or Speer Hot Cor????
« on: February 04, 2008, 03:52:20 PM »
Hey guys I'm debating on which one of these bullets to try through my 260 Rem.  I've already tried the 120 gr. Bal. Tip and they shot great.  Just wondering if any of you could give me your thoughts on these two bullets and how they perform for you in the same caliber. Like the 6.5 Swede or 264. Thanks alot guys.

Hi

I shot one impala in 2006 with a Game King, fully broadside shot just behind the left shoulder in and behind the right shoulder out, left a nice blood trail for the full 40 meters he ran. (140gr @ 2550 fps) Little bit of blood shot meat.

2007 I used 140gr Hot-cor's also @ 2550fps to shoot 2 more impalas and another one, 2 weeks ago.

The Sierra didn't do anything wrong, but I just liked the Hot-cor more, I will keep on using the Speers now.

Sweet

I like both bullets and the Gameking also.  However I eventually settled on the 140 grain Hornady Interlok as my do all bullet.

I think they all three are good bullets and you might as well add Rem core lokts to the mix.  Just pick the one that is the most accurate in your rifle.  The velocity window of the .260 lends itself very nicely to standard cup and core bullets.  I've killed two deer with mine --140gr Rem Core Lokts-- and neither deer moved out of it's shadow.
