Anyone completely disassemble their Contender frame?
« on: March 10, 2008, 09:21:23 AM »
I've owned one for a million years and I'd like to completely take it down, clean it and lube it.  Anyone ever do it?  How difficult is it?
This is the original Contender, not the G2.

Used to do it regularly, but now I just take off the wood and spray it down with degreaser to remove any dirt/power residue.  Remember - no oil on the action parts.

Is it a hassle to pull it apart?  I'd really like to clean the crap outta there at least once, but I'm afraid of flying springs, etc..
Anything I have to watch out for?
Aren't you afraid of rust without a light coat of oil on all the internal parts?
