I have been fishing my favorite spot and its been slow because of all the rain/cold nasty weather out of the past 25 days 20 have been rain. Its finally hitting 90 degrees and no rain all week. I have been fishing everyday even in the rain too. Today I switched from crankbaits to plastics and was using a splitshot rigged brushhog first cast I had a big bass on and lost it I didn't set the hook hard enough. Then second cast nothing so I added some baitmate bass scent and BINGO the fight was on and I landed a 5lb largemouth awesome it was my largest bass this season so far what a way to start off the hot weather fishing from no bass to small bass to big bass it sure was worth the wait. So change baits often it sure does pay off the average size large mouth bass in Connecticut is 3lbs. the place I'm fishing is noted for big bass up to 10lbs have been caught so far there. BigBill
It felt good to put her back too she is swimming again and will get bigger too i hope to catch her next year when she is 7lbs too. I have been fishing by the maori charts too today it said "very good" and it was.
The fish are there I just wasn't using the correct bait picking the correct pattern matched to the right presentation is the key to success but we have to stay focused and motivated too plus a little bass scent helps too.(baitmate)
Its not luck in fishing its SKILL so "GOODSKILL" to ya!!!!!!
