Gun Stock (Survivor)
« on: February 13, 2008, 04:52:33 AM »
Does anyone know who (manufacture) NEF/H&R uses for their thumb hole stocks.  Also any retail company, other than H&R that sells a variety of stocks for the handi's.  have a survivor in .308.  It is a wonderful rifle (the one in the avatar).  I have read alot of the FAQ section on this site and really enjoy the wealth of information.  The only problem that I have encountered with the survivor is the unbearable recoil that my sholder gets due to not having a recoil pad, after a good day at the range.  The stock could also be a bit longer as I am a rather tall individual with a long reach.  I am looking at getting the varminter stock from choate, but I am trying to expand my options before I order.

any information would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the board. Lots of info here. I got mine at one of our supporters.

It's in my avatar. They have them in Walnut and Lams. You have to call about the Fiddleback Maple now. I haven't been able to shoot it as of yet due to weather but hope to today. It's in a 243. Was a youth rifle originally. Good luck, let's see it when your done.

I shoot first, and don't ask questions.

Welcome! Boyd's makes the laminated t-hole stocks for H&R, you can only order them from H&R, they aren't available direct from Boyd's. Price is $122.50 shipped for camo or cinnamon.

If you just want to tame the felt recoil of the Choate Survivor stock, a large Limbsaver will fit it and give you a longer LOP.
