Hi les,
If at all possible, check the chamber depth before you lay out any cash
for it. The chamber in mine was .005 too deep, with a .003 gap between
the end of the barrel and receiver. This allowed the new 25/06 cartridges
to be slapped around a full .008"!!! It was made accurate only by
wildcatting .270 cartridges down to 25/06 and keeping them long enough
to chamber in this barrel. This I learned from OTHERS who had the same
problem with T/C's 25/06 barrels. (Personally, I would recommend
Virgin Valley -- they have since made wonderfully accurate barrels for
me.)
