W ho made it?
« on: January 03, 2008, 08:09:19 AM »
I have a Model 300 Ted Williams 12 gauge the was made for Sears and Roebuck that has a poly choke on the barrel. I would like to get another barrel for it but I do not know who the original manufacturer was. Can any one help with this. I plan on keeping the poly choke for use during sporting clays but I would also like to use this shotgun as a slug gun for deer hunting in Illinois. Thanks for the help.

Yeah most if not all  of the Ted Williams guns for Sears were made by Winchester.
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

According to the Blue book of gun values it's a Win 1400 pump shotgun.

What I want to know is who made My Ted Williams 400 over and under 20 ga.  It looks a lot like my friends 101 but since his is in 12 there are subtle differences.  The 400 is not in the blue book.

mcwoodduck:

My understanding is that the 400 is a 101, but with some parts that do not interchange. In the case of the 300 it was a Winchester 1400 but the trigger guard and buttstocks were not interchangeable.

The Sears Model 400 is in fact a Win 101 with cosmetic changes only.  All parts interchange, except as with all doubles, some replacement parts may need fitting, especially barrels to receiver.  This was told to me in a letter from Olin/Winchester after I inquired about this.  I love my 20 guage Sears 400 as well as my Win. 101's
