480 ruger in Contender?

Don't know if it is possible to do this. Have never seen one. Just from my knowledge i know if it is safe it would have to be right at the upper end. I thought i read that the pressure is lower than .44 mag. if this is the case it should be safe. Anyhow; figured i could get an answer here.

I have a 12" 480 Ruger barrel (i think it is 12"), but have not ever shot it yet, and I have had it 2-3 years.  Anyway 44 Mag pressure is 36K and 480 Ruger is about 48K.

I just picked up an "old" contender and was wondering if i could get a barrel in this cal. for it. Thanks for the info Mike.

The pressure limit for contenders is 45K for larger diameter cartridges.  The 480 Ruger runs at too high of pressure.  I asked this same question over a year ago because I wanted to do the same thing.
