If this question has been posted elsewhere, please redirect me.

I'm looking for info on whether the above stocks work for lefties, are ambidextrous, ??? ???  are special order, or if the opinion is to forget about it.

Info is pretty vague on the H&R website.

Thanks, in advance.

Welcome!!  ;) The laminated t-hole stocks are right hand only, but the Choate Varmint stock that comes on the fluted Ultras is ambidextrous.

Thanks, for the information.  The synthetic stock on the Ultra Varmint Fluted looked like it would be left or right, but I couldn't tell for sure from the picture :D.

Thanks, again.

Thanks, for the replies.  After reading your responses, I'm now trying to decide between the Ultra Varmint Flute in 223 with a 24" barrel or the Survivor in 308 with a 22" barrel.  .

Suggestions?

Paper targets at 200-300 yards, for the most part.  No hunting.  Price of ammo is a consideration, in that I won't invest in reloading for a year or so.

To kill paper, the most inexpensive would be the .223 since your not going to reload for awhile. Remember, don't shoot military ammo in a Handi. Around $200 you can get "about" all you need in a Lee Loader. Good place to start when you decide to reload.

But I agree with Tim. Both. Get both calibers. They don't cost that much through H&R.

I think I'll go with the Ultra Varmint Fluted in the 223, to start.  For no better reason than I like the looks better than the Survivor 308.  It would appear that, for my purposes, either would a good choice based on your recommendations.

I'll get the 308 later.   :D

I agree, go with the .223 for the first choice for what you want and need. It should be your first purchase....<><....:)

One more vote for the .223 fluted. I have it iin a .243 and love it. I also built a .223 bull with Choate stocks another fav. - JMHO F50
