Bulldog Camp

I'm considering a spring Black Bear hunt in Maine with the Bulldog Camp Outfitter. Has anyone ever had any experience with this outfitter?

Never heard of them. I tried a google search and they don't come up. What part of Maine are they in?

Nice looking web site. No information about how they run their bear bait operation. If I were wanting to go to Maine I would go with PB Guide Service. They run the best operation in the state in the best place for bear in the state. PERIOD. Pain in the rear end to get there, but its the best by far. Huge population of bear, true wilderness area and lots of really big bear. Not to mention a great hunting camp with amazing food. Spend a few more bucks and give Paul's operation a shot.

What interested me about Bulldog Camps was that they recently acquired permission to hunt on Indian land this spring. This land has not been hunted in 30 years. Presumably there will be some BIG bears in this mountainous region that has not had any hunting pressure in quite some time.

The biggest bears in the state of Maine are in the territory that PB has exclusive outfitter rights to. Don't listen to me, talk to the state biologists responsible for black bear. He's located in the Baker lake region.

Think of bear over bait as bear farming. Talk to Paul and let him tell you what he puts into his business (bear farming) and you will understand what I mean and exactly why he has the biggest and most bear in his territory. 250 to 350 pound bear taken at his camp are very normal. For Maine, this is a BIG bear since the average size bear in the state is about 140.
