Weaver mount on a vent rib shotgun barrel

I have a T\C Encore 12 guage smoothbore barrel with a vent rib. Now, I am buying a Trijicon red dot for my Springfield 1911 for my summer action pistol shoots, but I was thinking that I would like to also use this red dot for spring turkey on my T\C shotgun. However, I can't seem to find a weaver base that will "fit" or work with a shotgun barrel with a vent rib. 

Is it just the case of removing the vent rib from the barrel???....because that doesn't seem like brain surgery.

Any suggestions\help would be appreciated.

Dave, Easy fix. Weaver makes gunsmith bases that can be fashioned to fit about anything. Find a smith/machinist, have them mill the bottom of the base flat if it already isn't. Then have them mill a recess into the flat that is the same width as the rib on your barrel, about .050" deep. Now the weaver base will set nicely on the rib. The only thing left is to drill and tap 4 screw holes into the rib to hold it tight. In my shop it would take less than 1 hour, done.

Another option is the shotgun mount from arredondo industries which allows you to mount a c-more ,docter,or j-point red dot on your rib.35 dollars I believe.Just a thought.

I Google'd this with many options (arredondo industries, arredondo industries shotgun, arredondo industries shotgun mount) and can't seem to find it. Do you have a link?
