Steel bases and rings: Encore
« on: February 17, 2008, 01:13:17 PM »
Can anyone suggest a good set of bases and rings made from steel  for the Encore rifle? What I'm really looking for is Good 'ol bases and rings like the Leupold  one-piece base and their rings. I'm hoping to find Leupold, Burris, Millet, etc. I don't want Weaver style and Tally's just don't do it for me with the long screw deal besides, they're aluminum. I want steel! Any help?

Leupold, Redfield and Burris makes dual dovetail rings. I just ordered several sets of Leupold and they look great. Waiting for two barrels to install them on. I don't like Weaver and I don't like aluminum. You're heading in the correct direction. Midsouth and Midway sells them.

Thanks 58 but I forgot to mention that I don't care for the dovetails either. I know that Leupold does make them because I just recently bought a used PH 209x50 barrel and it had Leupold rings and base on it. There were no identifying numbers on it other than the Leupold trade mark. Please help! :(

If you want steel, check out Warne Bases and Rings.  Got them on all of my contenders and Encores.  Can't beat 'em...

I posted a picture above.  The picture is of the Leupold and the Warne base for an Encore.  I like the Warne because it is longer.  If you have not ordered your Leupold yet, let me know.  I will give you a good price on the Leupold mount that is pictured.  Tom.
