What is the difference between these models ? I want a 20 gage. and what would be a fair price for a used one ? I need something that won't kick much as I recently had a heart attack.

The glaring difference is that with the 1100, you're limited to using 2 3/4" shells compared to the 11-87 which allows for 3". I honestly don't know if they use different gas systems as I'm a pump guy myself, but if you're looking for lower recoil from the get go, I'd say look for an 1100.

I'd have to check their website but I think the 11-87 offers more models in varying configurations, depends on what you'd use it for most.

I too am a pump gun man. I've had a 12 3" mag for years. It jares me so much I can feel it in every bone in my body and that was when I was healthy.
I would probably only use the 20 for turkey hunting.   I don't use the 12 much, I don't even shoot it except when shooting at a turkey

Major difference is a stainless mag tube/gas chamber are on the 11-87. There are perhaps some minor barrel fit issues so I don't think barrels interchange but basically they are the same gun one is no better or worse than the other.

I suspect in 20 gauge both will deal with 2-3/4" and 3" shells fine but for sure the 11-87s so unless they are target guns. I think the 11-87 Premiers or whatever they are called are for the shorter shells only where as field guns take both.
