« on: February 29, 2008, 09:22:05 AM »
What is the best/easyest way to install a front sight hood without damageing the finish on the rifle, the hood and gouging/pinching fingers?

M1, M1A, 03A3, SMLE, No4 Mk1, No5 Mk1, Geweher M 1898, 98k (2), M44, Type 99, SKS, FNC, SAR-48, CAR-15 and civilian stuff too.

Use split ring pliers. It spreads the sight hood enough to install it.The other way is to use two loops of string. One on each side of the sight hood and pull them apart enough to slip it on the rifle.Takes some muscle.
