I have just picked up my recently finished Ruger Bisley. Conversion to .475 Linebaugh. It has a 4 5/8" barrel and was done Mr. Clements. It's primary purpose is as a companion while salmon / steelhead fishing in bear country and its alternative purpose is to function as a sporting deer gun in the lower 48. I am an experienced hand loader but do not cast my own bullets and really don't plan to. So here's the question:
Which bullet is best for me the LBT LFN or WFN in the 420 grain+ weight? And, what maker(s) are using LBT moulds for same?
My design goal is to push a heavy bullet (420 grains or maybe more) to about 1050 fps. and have it function as the one load for this gun. I am kind of a one load per gun type of guy. I never intended to push this gun to full velocity potential but wanted the capability of heavies + diameter and simply made a personal preference decision for the .475 over the .500 Linebaugh.
I've searched here and read quite a bit of Master Veral's educated input and have learned much. I look forward to your responses and to Veral's input as well.
Thanks! redleg
