Rem 1148 MAJOR problem!!!
« on: February 27, 2008, 04:47:41 AM »
I have a Remington 1148 auto 12 ga shotgun. And I've had it for a long time but I hardly ever shot it. I went to shoot it the other day and I used my plain ol  2 3/4 shells. And every time I shot It, it never would kick the bolt back and eject the hull or much less chamber another round. So I COMPLETELY TOOK the gun apart and clean EVERY bit of it and the shotgun is still acting up!! Does ANYBODY have any ideas of suggestions. Really need help.

After you cleaned it, did you leave oil on it?  That can make the action stick.  Did you take apart the whole thing?  Including the mainspring, and clean out the housing?

Those 11-48's are recoil operated, right?
