Hey gooser - I bet a number of them are google bots and other bots that are mining for info.

I run a computer gaming website/forums and we get hammered a lot by those and people from Asia, Africa, Europe who make spam accounts as well.

Often it's just a member who didn't bother to log in. But we do have on average about ten non members for each member on line at any given time. The way we are set up here spambots can't grab the data they are searching for so for the most part they don't spend much time here. They can't register here like they can and do at many sites and that too discourages them. But yeah they do no doubt visit all sites daily.
