UPDATE: My .223 Handi
« on: March 01, 2008, 12:14:20 PM »
I just got back from the shooting range where I was going one-on-one with a buddy of mine.  He was shooting his Bushmaster and I was shooting my Handi.  We were shooting, (actually exploding), red bricks at 100 yards, and I was matching him brick-for-brick.  A $270.00 Handi Rifle holding it's own against a $1,100.00 Bushmaster. Just goes to show you that you don't have to spend $1,100.00 or more for a straight shooting rifle.

thats well put, but it depends on how straight you want to shoot.

good shooting, next time put some money on it and kick it out to 250-300

before you do what Mitchell says, shoot it at those distances a bit and get used to it. If you feel confident, and if you have an idea how your buddy can shoot at those distances, go for it. Many guns can shoot better than their owners anyway....<><....:)

try setting up 50 bricks and give each shooter 1 min to shoot em.   It will be like a Porshe vs a Pontiac, both get you where you're going, but one will get you there much faster.
single shots are great, don't get me wrong, but they do have their limitations.

Except when you are trying to make multiple targets "dead".
