South AL meat processor
« on: November 19, 2007, 11:44:34 AM »
Guys,
Anyone know of a decent meat processor in the Coffee/Dale county area that will process deer and hogs?  I'd appreciate any feedback.  Thanks much.

There's Hopco, N. of Dothan on 431.
There's one on 231 in Midland City
I think there's one in Clayhatchee, west of Wicksburg and S. of 84, but I don't know where it is exactly.

Thanks, I found one over in Elba about 20 miles from my house.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to sample the other ones as well.

I use County Line processors , just over the Barbour county line in Henry County. They Vacuum pack your deer, and freeze it as hard as anything I've ever seen!

n2o2diver,
Thanks for the link.  I'll try them next as they look to be closer to me than Elba!

there is also one off of hwy 27.  if your going from enterprise to ozark as soon as you pass the last gated dirt road for area 12 (on your right) , turn left ( i think its county 21), there should be a sign for a place on the left.  he makes good bacon burger.

If you get as far north as Greenville DO NOT use the processer off US 31 north of Greenville.  He tried to give me the wrong head back and the deer sausage he made my dog buried it. Very unsanitary-stunk like a week old gut pile in the processing room! I think he is on Poorhouse Rd.
