Homemade calls?
« on: May 01, 2006, 09:49:51 AM »
Does anyone know where I can find good instructions with drawings or pictures for making calls?

I just think it would be a lot more fun to get a gobbler to come in to a homemade call.

thanks.

Thank you both. Just what I had in mind.

I KNOW I saved them old issues of Outdoor Life, but do you think I can find them? Could be the wife cleaned out the basement :-(

Thanks again.

Once you get a bird, you can make your own wingbone calls. It takes a bit of practice to get them to sound right, but it's worth it. They produce a very soft, sweet yelp. I made these out of the bones from a jake I killed in 2005.

Check out he nwtf site. There is instructions to make a tube call. It's made of stuff you might have around the house. I've made two and they work quite well.

Here's a 2nd for the tube call.  I carry way too many calls, but use my homemade tubecall more than any.
