Its been a long time since I've seen one of those gadgets.  5.8 is pretty acidic.  What's polluting the river?

There's Fishing and then there's Bass Fishing
Its kinda like the difference between Sandlot Baseball and Playing on the Team.
The difference is Practice

This a a medium sized lake and i think its all the rain we had over the last few months we had over twenty straight days of rain. At this place(#1) there is weeds but the PH is awful and this is the only thing that could be affecting bass there.  At my other hot spot(#2) there is no weeds at all and not any bass being caught. Plus no sunlite to make the weeds grow at this place and that  means no bass because of no cover and i don't have a clue where they are because no boats allowed.  At my #1 spot there are row boats only allowed but not many there since no bass are hitting.

This morning I lost the biggest bass of my life at place #1. The weather cooled off like 60 overnight so at 4am I hit my spot.  I threw crankbaits first and nothing which wasn't new to me anyway this place has been like a light switch on and off anyway(PH).   I deceided to go to plastics plus i want to learn more patterns anyway. I splitshot rigged a BassProShops 7" "Stick O Worm"  in redshad and had the biggest bass of my life strike all I heard was drag going out.    Bad enough it got off but I had it a second time and it repeated it again.  Fishing with plastics this large is like fishing with a T-Bone steak.  I figured out what "I" did wrong first of all my rod tip is too weak, I need to use a rod with more backbone with larger plastics and my weedless hook was too small(I think) I couldn't set the hook quick enough because of not enough backbone by the time I took up the flex it got off.  From what I saw it looked over 2 feet long.  It sure has been a learning experience this year for sure but all the new plastic baits I try the first time seem to catch bass right away.
