Smith & Wesson SW1911???
« on: February 16, 2008, 06:29:28 AM »
I'm thinking about getting a SW1911.  More specifically THIS MODEL.  How does the SW1911 stack up against other 1911's in the same price range?  With the exception of adding nights sight if I decide to use it as a "carry pistol" I'm going to keep it the way it comes out of the box.  What do you guys think of the SW1911? Thanks NYH!

New York Hunter:  the S&W 1911 is reputed to be a top quality pistol.  Some rumors have put Kimber and S&W together on either the parts end.  I've been looking at their 4" barrelled 1911 in Scandium to replace my aged Colt Commander.  Nice lookin' 1911 there.  Mikey.

So far I'd say I have about 300 rounds through mine with no problems of any kind.  Granted it's never gotten very dirty and I don't even like putting it in a holster haha

I have the S&W commander with the scandium frame.  I haven't really put a lot of rounds throught it but everything have been great so far.  I seriously thought about getting the dan wesson with the bobtailed frame.  I might still get one I really like the look and feel of the chopped frame.  I believe the dan wesson comes with night sights.  They are one of the few things I am thinking about changing on the S&W.

I picked it up this morning! Hopefully I'll get to shoot it this week. If not, I'll shoot it Sunday. This is one sweet feeling and handling pistol that's for sure. I hope it shoots as good as it feels!
