Choke tubes Question
« on: March 02, 2008, 03:15:35 PM »
I Know if there is an answer for this I will find it here.

I have a 20ga NEF that has been cut to 18 in. and threaded for choke tubes (COLONIAL ARMS TSIMC .675X44).The gun smith that did the work is no longer around.
I would like to change to a Polly Choke or True Glow does any one know about the tread pattern if it would work? I have checked out Colonial arms sight and now I am more confused is .675x44 The tread pattern? Do I have Remington, NEF, Browning, Mossberg or what?

Thanks for any help?

.675 should be your diameter and 44 should be the pitch (threads per inch).

Thanks for the info,  675  is that standard diameter for all 20ga? If so thread count should be all i kneed to figure out.

I emailed them no reply yet, I guess I will need to call them in the morning thanks for the phone #

As an after thought how about calling Poly Choke and True Glow and asking them if they offer their adjustable chokes in that size, .675 x 44?

.675 (of an inch) is the diameter of a 20 gauge Colonial True size choke tube specifically for installations using that size choke tubes and the 44 is  the thread pitch (threads per inch, aka TPI). As an example the 20 gauge Winchoke system used by H&R is a 32 TPI, with a diameter of .687, so the proper choke tube would/should be a .687 x 32....<><....:)

Hastings "Choke Tube I" has a .675 X 44 thread pattern. They are interchangeable with Tru-Choke Standard (a Trademark of Tru-Lock Tool Co.)

Scroll down to Hastings Choke Tube I, interchanges with Tru Choke Standard.

If you order from Trulock, you can get a 5% discount if you are a NRA member. Check the Home page for details.

I think there might be some more with the Tru Choke Standard thread pattern, but this should give you a start.
