I'm just getting set up to cast RB for my T/C Hawkens.  Where do you get your lead and what is your average cost?  Thanks

I get mine from a buddy who's a roofer.  Sometimes they pull lead flashing from an old roof.

If ya have to buy it, this is the best buy I've seen other than in the Classifieds here.

The problem with dentist lead is there is no way I can get enough to make bullets. Both of the Dentists in my town save lead for me and I get about a 2 pounds every 6 months. Another thing is dentist lead is not pure. The bullets I have made with dentist lead are much harder than the lead I got from Rotometal. I have bought 100 pounds of lead from Rotometal. They are having the free shipping just for us guys that cast bullets. Tell Ryan that you got the info from a shooting site. It is the softest lead I have ever bought. Ron

The last time I got lead from my dentist they had about 20 pounds.  The clinics with several dentist create the lead pretty fast.  One of the local scrapyards usually has lots of lead. You just have to be careful of what you pick out.  Last time I bought any it was 35¢ a pound.  Bet it's not that price anymore!  Come to think of it, it's about time to go back to the dentist! :(

Most dentists are going digital. Lead from them is going to be a thing of the past.  Ron
