I turned in early last evening, and woke about 3:30 this morning. Put on a pot of coffee, suited up and went out to stoke the outside wood furnace. Just got outside, and the yotes opened up about a half mile to the north-west. It was a clear, still, starlit 15 degree morning. I sat on the wood pile for a couple of minutes and just enjoyed them until They quit. Later, at 9 a.m., I was outside and they opened up again. It had been daylight for 2 hours and they were still going strong. A minute or two later, another pack started a half or 3/4 mile north east of me and the two groups serenaded each other back and forth for another couple of minutes, joined by all the dogs within hearing. It was Sunday, plus Honey Dos, but I kept twitching, sneaking, and flopping around groping for my Handi .22-250. Well, I never made it...........but, she's gone tomorrow!!!!!!!!
