magazine spring

I have a Wilson Combat magazine for my 1911. How long can it be loaded before the spring weakens?

Almost forever.  Most magazines appreciate a good rotation once in a while but I have used magazines loaded for over two years without a hic-cough (hic-cup to some).  Every now and then you hear of one found loaded and wrapped in newspaper that can be 50-75 yrs old and the magazine works the way it should (as does the ammo).  So there ya are.  Mikey.

a mag sitting in a safe unloaded will probably last forever but the ones i keep loaded get there springs changed at least every two years as there my ccw mags and i want reliability and a few bucks for a spring is cheap insurance. My comp guns get new ones every year for the same reason. I wont sit here and say its absolutely necessary but to me its cheap peace of mind.
