11-87 ejection ?
« on: May 04, 2008, 03:00:20 AM »
Hey guys
I have a 20ga. 11-87 premier. I have been using it for trap. The problem is that it ejects the shells 10 foot. I put a plastic shell catcher on it and that does work. but i would rather find a way to adjust the gun to drop the shells on the ground at my feet since i would like to use it for sporting clays also and with the shell catcher i can't have a second shot.
Anyone have any ideas how i could make the gun drop the shells at my feet without effecting the gun loading a second shell?

I don't really think that is practical but I've seen a couple of different type catchers in use on 1100s and 1187s over the years. One is a wire thing that flips up to catch the second after the first is allowed to eject or if set up to begin catches the first on singles. The other is a little basket deal that catches all but still allows doubles to be shot. No clue who makes them but I suspect a Google search might reveal someone selling them.
