CZ-52 Ghost Ring Sight -- FOUND IT!
« on: April 11, 2009, 08:20:10 AM »
Ok, I'm beginning to think this would be a real good idea for me. I find myself looking at the sights through the lower, 'reading' portion of my bi-focal eyeglasses... because that way I actually see them!

Now about the ghost ring rear that was featured on the Makarov.com page... Is there somewhere or from someone it can now be obtained?
Cannot find any source myself but maybe one of you can offer advice.
I'm really keen on picking one up if it can be scrounged from someplace.
Please steer me to a source.   ???

Got a reponse to the question on this board:  http://czusa.com/community_bbs_frameset.php

I was put wise to this item from a member there:

"I'm actually the one who turned Makarov.com on to this almost a decade ago...  I still have the original pics buried in the cached files somewhere on the desktop...

Anyways, the rear sight is a Williams shotgun aperature.  Look at page 13 here."  (http://www.williamsgunsight.com/gunsights/pdf/2009Catalog.pdf)

I also located them at Brownells' for the princely sum of $5.95:

Just thought I'd pass it along for anyone interested!  ;)

Of course guns are dangerous... if they weren't they wouldn't be good for anything!

( May 13/09 -->UPDATED<-- )

:( Bad News: That simple little aperture is no longer available. Seems I got lucky and got the last one Brownell's had in stock!
I ordered two but the 2nd one was an entire base for shotgun vent-rib mounting and another aperture with a long extended flair forward of the aperture ring itself which would need to be cut off. Even called Williams Gunsight... same part number, NEW part.

 :) Good News: Same low price, just a bit more work!
If you order one what you get will not look exactly like this pic, even just the aperture itself:
