Optima Elite 270 extractor problem?
«

Just bought a new optima elite combo in 50cal and 270. I put the 270 barrel on so that I could sight it in to go on a up and coming hog hunt. I noticed that the extractor only pulls the empty brass out just enough to get your fingers on the rim of the shell. Is this a weak extractor spring or is this normal? Also when you pull the brass out the extractor will pull out with it a little. I can get my finger nails on the rim of the empty brass but during winter it will be hard to do wearing gloves. Rifle is a very good shooter.

Mine does'nt pull them out very far either, but that seem's to be a problem with the extractor's instead of the ejectors on some rifles. I wish they would come out with a ejector on these barrels also. Digger

Well I guess I can live with it. I agree with you they should have a ejector the barrel.
