single six collector?
« on: May 18, 2008, 02:02:32 PM »
i bought a single six today, blued version made in 1970, 6.5 inch blued barrel and frame but stainless or silver-colored aluminum ejector rod housing and grip frame. pretty sure it's unfired. i bought it for a shooter, but with original manual and box, it makes me think it might be worth a lot and i dont wanna shoot it if it is.

any ideas?

it appears that my 2-tone gun has been polished, and that's why the color change. should be all blue. so it loses collector value but since it's in 99% shape and may even be unfired, i get to shoot a "brand new" 30 year old 3-screw revolver.

so no complaints from me :)

It is a pre-warning gun but I don't think that the collector value is really up there for those Single Sixes...At least not yet.  Now, if it were a flatgate from an earlier time that was 99% and unfired, then you would have been on to something.
