Are you sure that's not supposed to be H870? Hodgdon doesn't show a H570 on their website.

It may be a discontinued powder. You may try contacting them for info on it.

It might be one of the surplus take down powders. If so you really need to find out from the person selling it to you what data it's supposed to be similar to. Many of them are called "data powders" meaning you use data for some over the counter cannister powder to work up your loads with them. Those really are not appropriate for any but very experienced reloaders in my opinion.

What GB said..... I load alot of over run and surplus powders and also play with wildcats so I`m used to watching for pressure signs when I load. For a long while I was beginning to think that all of the data powders were not as hot as the powders you were told to use their data. BUT, one day I did get a big surprise when the starting load was alittle on the hot side, makes me glad I started with it and not max. Data powders also vary alot from 1 lot of powder to another, for that reason I like to buy at least 25 lbs. of it at a time. It can save you alot of money, if you know what your doing, but they are very dangerous if you don`t.

thank you all for your replies and advice. in my quest, I have found that H 570 and T570 are not the sane powder. T 570 is  surplus 20MM cannon powder,  very slow. possible use able in 50 BMG, think I'll call thunderbird cartage co and see what they have to say

PS I've been reloading sense the early 70's, but it's nice to be reminded to be safe and use caution.  Thanks Ken
