Ransom Rest $?
« on: June 08, 2008, 03:21:46 AM »
A friend and retired master bullseye shooter has a Ransom Rest and SEVERAL grip adapters that he wants to sell.

This is an elderly gentleman and not at all computer friendly. I have offered to help him sell this item.

He has the rest and base.
The rest has minor surface rust on main spring and otherwise appears to be very functional.

The base has three tightening knobs and two smaller set knobs. One of the tightening knobs (front) is missing and is replaced with a standard hex nut. This does not affect the unit and is very functional.

The grip adapters are as follows (from memory and subject to change):
Colt 1911
S/W N frame
S/W K frame (L frame also I assume)
High Standard
S/W 41
There may be more grip adapters but you get the idea.

What is all this worth.

Any help is appreciated,

Fred

You are welcome to inquire here to determine a proper pricing for it BUT...you may NOT list it here for sale. I do not allow third party sales on the GBO Classifieds. You may sell only items owned by yourself here at this site not items owned by some other third party. Way too many problems have developed over such sales over the years so I have disallowed them here.

Fred, is this a Masters series rest and is it the windage base? Those inserts can be costly depending on the gun they fit. Ransom has a web page that you can check NEW prices there. The Masters series goes about 350 dollars now (I THINK??) . inserts run from about $55 to over $100

I will check it it is the master series or not.  It does have the windage base.

It is possibly 25 years old.

Thanks for your help.
