45-70 Handi Carbine Wish List

Being the proud owner of a 45 Colt Carbine, I wish H&R would release other vintage caliber barrels with the same profile as the 45 Colt Carbine barrel, dovetailed for Marble sights.  At a gun show this weekend I had the opportunity to examine several 45-70 Calvary Carbines, that sported short tapered barrels.  A Handi with slimmer barrel and vintage sights would have fit right in. Like the British Express Calibers for the last century the 45-70 will do just about anything the new super magnum handgun cartridges will do at a third the pressure.

Talk about a super magnum hand gun and .45-70 in the same breath, a number of years ago, a buddy of mine, who owns a sport shop, had two Centruy Arms .45-70 revolvers. for sale.  He sold both of them, and unfortunately, got back no range reports.  I always wondered if the folks who bought them had any wrists or elbows still intact.  They made a Walker look puny.  I guess if I'd bought them, they wouldn't be a saddle gun, I'd have to take along a pack horse!  Perhaps two, one for the guns, the second for the ammo.  I enjoy my .45-70 Handi, but can't comprehend absorbing that recoil in a lighter weapon with just my hands.  I'm flinching thinking about it!
