Glock Tactical Light
« on: March 05, 2008, 02:10:00 AM »
I recently purchased a G21 (3rd gen) and am considering a Glock GTL 10 Tac Light. Primarily, this pistol will be my bedside weapon. I know it is debatable as to whether a weapon mounted light or a handheld light is the better option, and I imagine I will have to decide which I prefer, but just wondering if the Glock light is a good choice, as I've never owned a weapon mounted light.

I'm a strong believer in weapons lights for LE use and on home defense weapons. Don't piratically care for the "Glock Light" because of the excessive bulk and it's dim light (compared to other models).  I'd shop around a bit and compare other models. Some like the LED lights, I insist on the xenon models myself, as I prefer intensity over battery life. Just make sure you get a light with a momentary and constant on switch, and you'll be good to go.

I have a Glock light and am very happy with it.

I mount it on my G20, G23 & G29 as well as I have a mount for my Marlin 1895GS 45-70 and us this light on it as well.

Thanks for your comments. I went with a Streamlight TLR-1 I think it's called, and am very impressed with it so far. Takes a little more time to take it off and put it on, but since it's on my bedside pistol it stays mounted most of the time.
